Thank you for visiting David Otero Photography.
A little about me and my passion for photography. I have had a camera with me since I was a kid growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Currently, I live in Willowbrook, Illinois, a suburban town about 25 miles west of Chicago.
I have been fortunate to travel to many exciting places in the world including Europe, Central America and the South Pacific, but I find that every location I visit has a special story that needs to be told and shared in photography.
I also love photographing events, landscapes, cityscapes, and especially people. My technique is to keep things simple. I prefer natural lighting but if strobes or reflectors are required for a shot, I keep that minimal as well.
I meet with all my clients before a sitting. It is very important for me to get to know my subjects before any photographic session, I just won't do a sitting without some interpersonal preparation. I want you to feel comfortable with me and I want to know how to bring out who you are and what you want to have viewers feel when they experience your portrait. Travel is not a problem for me. I can work in your home, outside, in a studio, or anywhere you like.
Over the past thirty plus years, I have been honored with several photography awards and my work has been recognized, displayed and republished around the world.
I am always willing to take on any new photographic challenge. If you have an event or an idea for a photo shoot, give me a call and let's see what art we can create together. You will find my prices very reasonable.
